Sunday Stitches – Trellis Lace and Eiffel Tower Stitch

This week’s samples are the pretty Trellis Lace stitch and the super cute Eiffel Tower Stitch, taken from The Harmony Guide to Knitting Stitches, Volume 1.

Trellis Lace Stitch

Worked over multiple of 6 stitches + 5.

The sample shown is worked over 35 stitches.

Row 1 (RS): K4 [yo, sk2po, yo, k3] 5 times, k1
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: K1 [yo, sk2po, yo, k3] 5 times, yo, sk2po, yo, k1
Row 4: Purl

Repeat rows 1 – 4

Eiffel Tower Stitch

Eiffel Tower Stitch

Worked over multiple of 4 stitches + 1.

The sample shown is worked over 29 stitches.

Row 1 (RS): P4 [yo, p2tog, p2] 6 times, p1
Row 2: K4 [p1, k3] 6 times, k1
Row 3: P4 [k1, p3] 6 times, p1
Rows 4 – 7: Repeat rows 2 and 3
Row 8: Knit

Repeat rows 1 – 8

Stitch Abbrevaitions

k– Knit.
p – Purl.
yo – Wrap the working yarn over the right needle, from front to back (counter-clockwise).
Sk2po – Slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together, pass slipped stitch over (2 sts decreased)
P2tog – Purl 2 stitches together

  1. I love these stitches! I do have a bit of a nightmare working with yo and get in a pickle! I think i will have to give them a go though!

    1. I’m glad you like them! The trellis lace is a good one to start with as it’s the same repeat on all rs rows, and if you do miss a yo you can pick it up on the purl side 🙂 happy knitting!

    1. Thanks Jen. I love making the samples and most don’t take that long – they are perfect for tv knitting! I do need to find something to do with them all now though…
